So I realized I've been writing the same post over and over for a while now. Thanks for bearing with me as I slog through May. How about something different? How about a quick B update?
My little man is doing quite well.
Still no crawling, but plenty of scooting, he can get where he wishes right quick.
B loves the water, I think I need to get him swimming even if the chlorine makes his skin flare up. He loves splashing around in the bath every night before bed, and this afternoon he dumped the dog's water bowl all over the kitchen floor, squealed, and then splashed around until I picked him up. Gotta love a water baby.
Food is still not very interesting to him. He'll work on bananas if they are mashed and on his tray, but everything else makes him gag. Every few days I give him a bit of banana to play with, and every now and again I give him something new to try, but we're not pushing anything on him. No harm in sticking with milk a while longer, right?
When B plays he smacks his right foot on the ground over and over. It's the cutest thing. He's just like his daddy, can't hold still.
We've weaned him off the pacifier, which has made our lives easier. He is sleeping longer stretches at night, though we are still struggling a bit with sleep issues. He naps better now too. It was easy for us to transition him to a comfort item (we used a Taggies blanket) since we only gave the pacifier at night and for naps.
B is a sweet, happy baby. He loves everyone who crosses his path. He loves to cuddle and snuggle, but likes his floor time too. If he hasn't had enough free play time in a day it's much harder to get him down for the night.
8 months in two days, break my heart why dontcha?

Your B is so like my J in so many ways. Funny, I had a dream about you last night! We caught up without the babies though!
Anyway, goes to show I truly am thinking of you this May.
xo
Kaia does that leg/foot smashing thing too. She's not sitting independently yet, but when she's laying on her back she kicks! kicks! kicks! her leg (especially her good right one) off the floor. It's cute...until it's not when she does it to keep herself awake at bed time!
B sounds a lot like Kaia in many ways. They both are happy babies!
Kaia's starting to like a few more food things. I caved on the cereal (although I still maintain it's gross) and whatdayaknow she likes it! She eats yogurt, banana, strawberries, cooked bell peppers, blueberries, cereal, baby mum-mum crackers, cooked broccoli, a bit of cheese and once tried a bit of spaghetti sauce. I figure I'll just keep giving her bits of stuff and hope some of it's goodness gets absorbed. She does gag if anything is too big or not soft enough so when that happens I back off and we try again later. It's fun to watch her explore and taste new sensations in her mouth.
Thinking of you as two years rolls around this month.
he's such a sweetheart!!
